Discover Award Judges

Peter Cameron's novel The Weekend was selected for the Discover program in 1994, and released as a feature film starring Gena Rowlands and Brooke Shields. His fourth novel, The City of Your Final Destination, was also adapted for the screen as a James Ivory production which was released in 2010.

John Dalton won the 2004 Discover Award for his debut novel, Heaven Lake, which also garnered the Sue Kaufman First Fiction Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His second novel, The Inverted Forest, is scheduled for publication this summer.

Zoë Ferraris published her first novel, Finding Nouf, in 2008. An intriguing mystery set in Saudi Arabia, it was selected for the Discover program and received the Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction from the Los Angeles Times. Her second novel, City of Veils, was published in the summer of 2010.

Christina Lamb was a 2003 Discover Award finalist for her moving book on the plight of the women of Afghanistan, The Sewing Circles of Herat. In addition, she has also published The Africa House and House of Stone. Currently, Lamb works in the United States, as a foreign correspondent for The Sunday Times (London).
