A family visiting Kashmir for the first time begins their journey with a Kashmiri driver named Bashir. They were laughing and playing together and enjoying the trip, but on the third day, while returning from Pahalgam, their journey comes to a sudden end.

'Apni Kahani'...This Hindi name was given to the Marathi novel because of the main character Bashir! He started the story with this song and took it to a different direction right from the beginning.

The confrontations that Bashir's family and other Kashmiri brothers had with the immediate, social, or political situations of different times are described in very restrained terms, only for the sake of the plot, so we continue to read the story with enjoyment.
