AIED'01 is the 10th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education, part of an ongoing series of biannual international conferences designed to report top quality research in the field of intelligent system theory and technology for educational applications. It provides opportunities for the cross-fertilisation of information and ideas from reseachers in the many fields that make up this interdisciplinary research area, including: computer science, psychology, linguistics, sociology, and philosophy. The theme of the 2001 conference was AI-ED in a Wired and Wireless Future. Papers that explore the the emerging roles of mobile computing and distributed technologies in intelligent educational applications were particularly encouraged.
