Father, grandfather, and wannabe children's writer.

Following service in the Royal Navy and as an Expatriate in the Arabian Gulf and South-East Asia, now comfortably settled in South-West France daubing paint on canvas and three-finger tapping on computer keyboards - whilst burying my head in the sand at the antics of misguided politicos and pundits the world over.

My writing background is varied, having had work published in 'serious' magazines on such diverse topics as Oriental Rugs and 'The Devolution of Victoria's Navy'. Success as a first-prize winner in an international short story competition, a cash award and being published encouraged me to believe that, just occasionally, humorous fiction is saleable.

It is of course a generational thing, but I much prefer to pass on the 'old-fashioned' family values of love, respect, and a sense of (often irreverent) fun in my writing. Gloom, doom and the vampire culture - No thanks!

My recent forays into juvenile fiction include an adventure novel for girls and the young teen market, 'The McBride House Mystery' - reviewed as a 'Ripping Yarn' and 'The Secret Seven, Updated'-- and the first in a hopeful series of humorous yet mildly fantasy short novels for boys, 'Mickey's Magical Morpher'.
