Those who know me, know I am a “closet” lover of snow. One of my favorite things in the whole world is watching the snow fall on a cold day. It mesmerizes me. That’s why this book was so dear to me. I was imagining how I feel when the snow is delayed or later than usual in appearing. Little Will is really a lot like me. And the St. Paul Winter Carnival with the ice sculptures and snow statues is amazing. Who wouldn’t want to be here? Come along on an adventure with our hero, William, and enjoy the wonders of winter.
When Will moved to South Carolina, with his parents, I was sad to think he wouldn’t have the opportunity to enjoy winter and snow and snowmen. And then this winter, it actually snowed a couple of times for him. It must have had something to do with the creation of the book. He was delighted to be able to play in the snow, if only briefly.
