Alex Michaelides is a British–Cypriot author of The Silent Patient, a psychological thriller that spent more than a year on the New York Times bestseller list and is in the process of being developed as a film. The novel has gained worldly recognition and was translated into several languages. He has since released more popular books including The Maidens and The Fury. Michaelides's background in psychotherapy has inspired his writing. He is also a screenwriter known for writing, The Devil You Know, starring Jennifer Lawrence and co–writing The Con is On, starring Uma Thurman. After living in London for many years, Alex has recently moved back to his birthplace, Cyprus.
