Andrea B. Vassilev, PsyD, is the creator of the Overcoming Self-Stigma in Bipolar Disorder program. Vassilev holds a doctorate in psychology, with specialty expertise in bipolar disorder, and as someone who has lived with bipolar disorder for twenty-five years. She is a mental health advocate and is regularly asked to speak, write, present, and consult on the lived experience of bipolar disorder and other mental health struggles. She was nominated for the Social Health Network Award in the category of Revolutionary Researcher in 2024. She is on the interventions task force of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders, which includes the world’s leading experts on bipolar.
