Wisconsin citizens tell some of the greatest stories of their lives in this landmark series in four parts. Wisconsin sent more than 300,000 troops to war; to the jungles of Asia, the mountains of France, the air over Berlin and the waters of the Pacific to battle the forces of tyranny and reclaim freedom. More than 8,000 never returned. Sacrifice was also the watchword on the home front, with its scrap metal drives, bonds and victory gardens. This program preserves those battlefront and home front stories for contemporary generations and those to come, so the sacrifices will never be forgotten.
