Sholem Aleichem (1859-1916) is the most beloved Yiddish writer ever.

Sheva Zucker is the author of the textbooks Yiddish: An Introduction to the Language, Literature and Culture, Vols. 1 + II. She is the executive director of the League for Yiddish and the editor-in-chief of its magazine Afn Shvel. She has taught and lectured on Yiddish language, literature and culture on five continents and has taught Yiddish for many years in the Uriel Weinreich Program in Yiddish Language, Literature and Culture, currently under the auspices of Bard College and the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York City. She now also serves as the academic director of the program.

Anne Gawenda has been involved in Yiddish education Melbourne, Australia for 35 years. She received a degree in education at Monash University after completing an arts degree. She has taught English, French, and Yiddish in both high school and elementary school. She has taught Yiddish at Sholem Aleichem College for the last 20 years and for the last 10 years she has been the director of Jewish Studies there.
