Educated Eating: A Simple Guide to "Retrain" yourself on Life's most basic need... How To Eat! Volume 1 The Carbohydrate-Insulin Connection to Obesity, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, & Heart Disease
Obesity, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and Heart Disease have reached epidemic levels. Most people are overworked, overwhelmed and on the Merry-Go-Round of Sick Care. One of the main reasons for the high levels of disease is people are just not making the connection between carbohydrates (sugar) and insulin (a hormone). Carbohydrates are just different forms of sugar and include vegetables, beans, peas, grains, and fruit. Dietary carbohydrates are NOT Essential to human health as long as you are eating sufficient protein and fat yet the guidance we are given is to consume large amounts. It's not that carbohydrates are bad or should not be eaten, but excess carbohydrates can cause excess insulin production in the body and lead to high levels of inflammation and disease. The ground work for rethinking our eating has already been laid by people like Gary Taubes, Denise Minger, Dr. David Perlmutter, Jimmy Moore, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. William Davis, Dr. Jeff Volek, Dr. Stephen Phinney, Nina Teicholz, Dr. Jason Fung, Nora Gedgaudas, and many others. Dawn Ann Jameson believes that most people cannot identify the proteins, fats, and carbohydrates in their diet and are at a loss when it comes to how many carbohydrates they are consuming on a daily basis. So you think you're eating a healthy diet? The "type" of "diet" doesn't really matter if you don't understand the basics regarding food. Most people were never taught how to eat and never think to question the guidance that they have been given when it comes to eating. Simple questions such as what is the purpose of food? What does the human body require nutritionally to function on a daily basis? Educated Eating is a grassroots movement focused on encouraging and empowering individuals to seek a higher level of health through education and awareness of personal food choices. Educated Eating Volume 1 is not a diet book; it is a simple guide to help you begin to make the connection between carbohydrates (sugar) and insulin (a hormone). This five part guide addresses what the body needs, the problem, the solution, good quality carbohydrates, and outlines a plan to help you on your journey to more abundant health. Retraining yourself on how to eat is a step by step process. When you make the time to take a look at what you are really eating, you truly can Change Your Eating, Change Your Life!

About the Author

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Dawn Ann Jameson is a Nutritional Awareness Consultant (NAC) who combines her love for great-tasting healthy food with her extensive knowledge of nutrition and health to educate others. After obtaining her B.A. degree in Psychology, from the University of Dayton, M.S. degree in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas, and retirement as a Lieutenant Commander (LCDR, 04) from the U.S. Navy, she decided to further her passion in the field of nutrition and health. Her many years of personal struggles with weight, dental, and other health related challenges, lead Dawn to set out on a path which would forever change her life.
After successfully losing thirty pounds and keeping it off on a low-carbohydrate life-style plan, she now serves as a beacon of hope for others to follow. Having witnessed the devastating consequences of poor health choices amongst family and friends based on overwhelming and confusing nutrition and health information, she made it her mission to become a spark for change.
As a visionary, Dawn realized a need for an addition to the current structure of individuals providing nutritional education and guidance (dieticians and nutritionists) and thus created her position as a Nutritional Awareness Consultant. She serves as an independent nutritional health educator and advocate for the people. Her vision also includes encouraging the formation of Educated Eating (E²) Clubs in communities throughout the world.
Dawn's voracious appetite for knowledge keeps her deeply immersed in research and evaluation of human eating patterns, behavior, the environment, and educating/awakening individuals to the powerful outside forces, which significantly impact their lives. Her mission is to Encourage and Empower individuals to seek a higher level of health through Education and Awareness of personal food choices. Well known for her "Swiss Cheese" method of achieving excellence in nutrition and health.....one bite at a time to Change Your Eating, Change Your Life! Dawn enjoys a healthy, abundant and fulfilling life in Atlanta, Georgia, with her two loving puppies Koko and Blue.
