Affirmations have shaped my world view. This book is my attempt to share my journey with you. My journey began in the Sardis, Mississippi, and the very segregated South in the 1950's, only minutes away from the tragedy of Emmitt Till of 1955 in Money, Mississippi. My parents fished in the Tallahatchie River many days not knowing someday it would become a part of history.
Succeeding came with many pitfalls along the way as my second grade teacher often told me I would never amount to anything and my third grade teacher slapped me so hard in error, she left her handprint on my face.
What a journey.....I have seen and experienced much on my journey. I have come to realize words and actions can hurt but also have the power to heal and propel you to success. Words can change your whole world around you.
