Walking With Blue
Poems, words and songs without music performed by Carl Bennett at stand-up gigs and festivals through 2014. That said, Carl Bennett isn't much of a stage name. Maybe Frank Admiration and the Extraordinary Renditions would be a bit more catchy. Most of this spoken word material is new, but like anything new it contains a lot of older themes, like the title, Walking With Blue. It was a poem I tried to write...

About the Author

Carl Bennett started walking with blue trudging past Wendy Sedgewick's house in Wiltshire, one freezing Sunday afternoon hitchhiking back to college 100 miles away. You could do that then, just about. It was starting to snow and a seagull was circling in the grey sky and he didn't want to go.

He did though. But in some ways of course he never did, the way some people never do, still walking past warm houses years on, still walking with blue jeans and dove grey sweater.

After cooking crepes in a converted stagecoach in Aspen, interrupting an Israeli Defence Forces ambush, doing a degree in Sociology, living in Bath, London and Suffolk and not learning the guitar and saxophone very well he started performing stand-up spoken word in January 2014 to the considerable annoyance of some of the people who inspired some of the pieces.

Sorry about that. Whatever it was. No, really I am. We could have a drink and talk about it if you like. Wait, don't be like that.

This book is dedicated to them all.
