As early as 1894, a group of Baptist student volunteers from Denison University devoted their sum mer vacation to a missionary campaign among the Baptist churches of Ohio; and during the three succeeding vacation periods, from five to seven students visited each year about 200 churches in Ohio and West Virginia.
