The Sound of Strings
"The Sound of Strings" is an inspiring and imaginative autobiographical tale told through the eyes of a young Damien Escobar (now, two-time Emmy Award winning violinist). The story begins when Damien is assigned the violin in music class. Like any eight-year-old, he doesn't accept what is given to him, instead he can't help but wonder what it would be like to play the drums like his friend Kimora or the piano like Kaydence. He even tries to switch instruments with his classmate Tyris- because, as he argued, anyone could see that the rock star guitar was better suited for him! But at the end of the class period, Damien is stuck with his assigned set of strings. No one, including Damien, could see what an instrumental part this violin would play in his life. And as Damien reluctantly closes up the case to take home, his journey of self-exploration unfolds. "The Sound of Strings" is a coming of age story that, with a little bit of humor, encourages kids to be confident and comfortable with who they are and all that they do!

About the Author

Damien Escobar began playing the violin at the age of eight. With years of practice and an unwavering passion for performing, he and his brother formed the Emmy Award winning group, Nuttin' but Stringz. Together, the duo received many honors and gained recognition for being the most successful crossover violin groups in musical history.

As Nuttin' but Stringz, Damien performed on many different stages, but starring on Nickelodeon's "The Fresh Beat Band" and "Jack's Big Music Show," would introduce him to an entirely new and unforgettable fan base. Following his appearances, Damien soon recognized the positive influence he had on young music lovers. Recounting experiences from his childhood helped him develop "The Sound of Strings." An imaginative autobiography meant to entertain and inspire.
