About the Author

Diane Marie Banas attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and later received a degree from Northern Illinos University at the age of forty. She also has a masters of Arts from Concordia University. Her teaching career spanned twenty years and included reading, writing and poetry. Other interests include photography, the great outdoors, woodworking, furniture making, gardening, and travel. Now retired, she has time to devote to her writing and other hobbies. Her passion for entertaining, personal experiences, and a belief that "hosts need to enjoy their own parties" led her to the creation of this, her first book. She lives in the Galena Territory in the northwest corner of Illinois with her husband. She has two children and four amazing grandchildren.
