After taking responsibility for flagging an illegal drag race between his brother and his best friend on Spike's Run, young geeky senior Steve Booth quickly learns the consequences of his actions when his best friend Mark crashes through a farm fence causing all hell to break loose, and a prominent businessman's fatal crash the following day. After their parents force these young men to attend the funeral, hoping they would learn a lesson, the shy unconfident Steve meets sweet petite hazel-eyed Susan. This unexpected meeting sparks a romance that leads them and their so-called friends down a path destined for destruction.
