About the Author

Frank Zhu, associate professor, and the Chairperson of the Division of Arts and Sciences at ASA College in New York City. A professor both by training and inclination, he has been teaching at different colleges and universities for many years. Among the courses he has taught are Comparative Politics, American Political Philosophy, Introduction to Sociology, American History, and World History, to name just a few. Zhu's teaching career has stretched over different countries, including China, Australia, Sweden, Canada, and the U.S. His zealous passion for observing different cultures, societies, and peoples has inspired him to travel widely around the world. The extensive travelling experiences have provided him with a unique advantage as a Sociology Professor. Zhu's other major published works and translations include Essentials of World History (2008) and The Uncertain Promise (2003). As a keen observer of current international affairs, Zhu also contributes occasionally to news publications in different countries. Zhu was born in China. In the mid-1990s, he went to Australia to seek a doctoral degree at the University of Sydney. Afterwards, he moved to a number of different countries before settling down in America. He now lives with his family in Westchester, NY.
