Answered Prayer. Guaranteed!: The Power of Praying with Faith

Price explains a biblical and experientially based method of prayer. It will provoke assurance and confidence that God hears your prayers and answers them. Most Christians struggle with their commitment to prayer and wrestle with a proper prayer attitude and even posture. Price debunks the teaching on prayer that says, “Sometimes God says yes, sometimes He says no, and sometimes He says wait.” He teaches how God responds to faith and faith alone, and why it is critical for us to understand how to pray in faith and not in doubt, ignorance, or presumption.

Introduction

Next to the salvation experience and receiving the Holy Spirit, there is no issue in all of a Christian’s spiritual life that is as critical as getting prayer right. There is a way to pray so that you know God hears you and has already answered your prayer.

1. Use the Right Tool

It helps to know from the outset what the different prayer tools are—to know a ratchet from a screwdriver, as it were, in the realm of prayer. There are six different types of prayer mentioned in the Bible, and God intended them for different functions. They are: the prayer of agreement, the prayer of faith, the prayer of consecration and dedication, the prayer of praise and worship, the prayer of intercession, and the prayer of binding and loosing.

2. How Did Jesus Pray?

When Jesus left to go to heaven, He gave us the power of attorney to conduct kingdom business in His name. He told His disciples they would have to ask the Father in His name. That is everything we need to know about how to pray. That is the key that starts the car of faith, if you will.

3. Ground Rules for Effective Prayer

What are the basics of effective prayer? This chapter covers praying for everything you need, knowing who you are in Christ, praying with persistence, asking the right way, having faith for what you ask for, and believing that you will receive.

4. What to Pray For

Steps: 1. Determine what you want. 2. Ask in the present tense. 3. Pray according to the Word of God. 4. Be definite in your prayer; 5. Develop the habit of mumbling (meditating).

5. The Prayer of Faith

This chapter digs deeper into the prayer of faith. It develops these principles: your faith is your evidence, spiritual substance precedes physical substance, faith versus hope, and factors that can impede your prayer of faith.

6. Affirming Your Answered Prayer

This chapter develops the principle of confessing your request as a faith fact. It discusses the difference between believing and knowing, and talks about the devil’s weapons. It teaches how to guard your mind against encroaching evil thoughts.

7. A Model Prayer

The author suggests steps to a simple prayer of faith, including: begin with thanksgiving, confess your faith in God and His Son, pray for those in authority over you, pray for revelation knowledge, add your personal confession about your need, pray for your enemies, pray for your financial and material needs, and conclude your prayer by praying in the Spirit.
