About the Author

Henry S. Harrison is a nationally recognized real estate educator and best-selling author who has lectured throughout the country on real estate appraising. Mr. Harrison earned the MAI and RM designations from the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the SRPA designation of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers; ASA-American Society of Appraisers; IFAS-National Assoc. of Independent Fee Appraisers; and CSA-Columbia Society of Appraisers. He served on the national faculties of both the AIREA and the SREA and has been a leading real estate appraisal educator for over 50 years. He also served as the National Public Relations Chairman of the AIREA, twice receiving their Professional Recognition Award, and is now a Life Member of the Appraisal Institute. In 1993, Mr. Harrison received the prestigious Distinguished R.E. Instructor (DREI) designation from the Real Estate Educators Assoc.

Mr. Harrison's daughter Kate L. Harrison holds a J.D. from Pace Law School and a Masters in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. She wrote the best-selling green wedding book, The Green Bride Guide in 2007 and went on to found the leading green wedding website in the country.
