About the Author

Howard G. Goldberg spent 34 years at the New York Times as an editor and writer, 23 of them at the Op-Ed page. He contributes a feature, Wine Under $20, to the City section of the Times and a column, Long Island Vines, to the Long Island section, both on Sundays. He is the American-auction columnist for, and a contributor to, Decanter magazine in London, and is decanter.com's New York correspondent. Goldberg has been a columnist for Wine News, in Coral Gables, FL, since 1992, and has written many articles for the magazine, especially on German and Austrian wines; he was named associate editor in 2004. His work has been published in Wine & Spirits, Saveur, Alles Über Wein (Mainz, Germany), Vineyard & Winery Management, and Wine Business Monthly. He has also appeared on Wine Review Online. Goldberg is author of All About Wine Cellars.
Eric Asimov has been chief wine critic at the New York Times since 2004. Asimov created the $25 and Under restaurant reviews and wrote them through 2004. He was editor of the Living section from 1991 to 1994 and editor of Styles of the Times from 1994 to 1995. His book How to Love Wine is to be published in 2012.
