About the Author

Isaac M. Daniel is presently at the Center for Quality Engineering and Failure Prevention at Northwestern University. He is a past Director of Northwestern University's Mechanics of Materials Laboratory. He holds a dual appointment, in both Civil and Mechanical Engineering departments at Northwestern. He is on the editorial boards of the two journals Composites (Butterworths) and Journal of Composites Technology and Research (ASTM). Ori Ishai is in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. For the past two decades, he has been involved continuously in the teaching of Mechanics of Composite Materials, and has initiated many new courses in that field at Technion University. In 1990 he resumed his position of Visiting Senior Scientist at the NASA Ames Research Center.
