He served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1976, leaving with the rank of Captain. Jack has a Transportation Management degree from the University of Tennessee and retired as Vice President of Operations from HVH Transportation in Denver, Colorado in 2011, after many years in the trucking industry.
