CHAPTER 1

Hi, my name is Robert Not Robbie, or Bobby or Bob My mom has her own pet names for me But my friends just call me Rob

When I was a little kid, maybe six or seven I wished really long and hard For someone who would look up to me And being his big brother would be my job

I had already been a little brother And that suited me just fine But I thought how cool would it be To have a little brother to call mine

Well, finally I got a little brother Now I was a big brother, even though I was in the middle I'd teach him to ride a bike, and play sports And I'd boss him around.... just a little

And Joshua was the cutest little thing That is what everyone else said, of course He brought so much happiness into our home Of joy he was an endless source

He was smart and funny And walked before he could crawl And was fascinated with beetles and bugs Both creepy, crawly, large and small

At first he would laugh when I played hide & seek And he loved when I clowned around for him Or when I made funny faces with googly-eyes Man, he'd break into this incredible grin

But slowly, I'm not sure exactly when He slowly stopped using his words I tried to remember if it was my imagination Or were these memories of things I had heard

'cause I think I remember him singing songs Into the back of a hairbrush I remember him calling me "Bubby" And babbling on in a rush
