About the Author


Janel Halpern earned her master's degree from New York University and is a former English teacher. Her lifelong interest in art began in adolescence and soon became a passion. Halpern is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times and Redbook magazine. A native New Yorker, Halpern and her family reside in Manhattan.


Harvey Appelbaum is a graduate of the Pratt Institute and worked as a graphic designer and photographer for more than fifty years. He has designed multiple book covers and worked with brands such as Dunkin' Donuts and Absolut Vodka. Appelbaum is a volunteer at the Museum of Modern Art and lives with his family in Manhattan.
