Dear Michelle
At least 20 years ago my son Jason told me I should write the story of my life with horses. I tried several times but it seemed like I could not get anything down on paper. Then his daughter Michelle started trying to get me to write. A granddaughter can be very persuasive.

About the Author

This book is the true life story of Lou Spence, who was born on a homestead where everyday life depended on horsepower. Befriended by horses after the death of her mother, Lou first learned to train them by following the example of her oldest brother. Later she learned English style riding and competitive jumping, serving as a District Commissioner in Washington State for the Pony Club of America. Finally, she became a certified horse trainer, raising, training, and racing thoroughbred horses successfully in Idaho and Washington for several years. Lou lives near Spokane, Washington.
