To be inspired is to awaken to ourselves as an integral part of something so much larger than our own little lives. It is the quickening of purpose that springs from the depths of our souls. It is the recognition that our brief and precious lives have been given us so that we might serve to actively midwife our unmanifest potentials for greater levels of goodness, truth, beautify and love into the manifest world. It is the awakened understanding that we are not here as passive observers of life, or worse yet, as victims of the way things are, but rather, as the very vehicles through which the creative possibilities of what life could be, emerge.

To be inspired, or perhaps we could say, to be in-spirited, means that you have offered yourself up to the larger evolutionary process of life itself in order to bring into the world those things that do not yet exist. In understanding that life is actually seeking to get somewhere—call it a transformed world, a harmonious, just and sustainable human society, or even simply Heaven on Earth, we become aware that life’s only way of realizing these things is through you, through me, and through all of us together.

The fastest way to the realization of your own highly inspired life is to ride the wave of that which Great Spirit (God, Goddess, Higher Power, Spirit, Allah) is already seeking to bring forth into human experience, fully surrendering your life to be used in service to this great and glorious unfolding. To be so in-spirited is to be joined in full co-creative partnership with the energies of life force itself, listening deeply for your next steps as you follow the gum drops in the forest to bring forth your most delicious, juicy, dynamic and creative life of contribution and care.

As there is only one of you in all the Universe, the ways that you yourself are called to participate in this great evolutionary process of life are unique to you, and the cost is great should you somehow fail to find your way home to your own creative and in-spirited center. We all know horror stories of those who lived contracted lesser lives and left this world without ever realizing their potentials or fulfilling on their dreams. As a matter of fact, we must admit that this is actually the more common experience than that of living a fully inspired life. Perhaps you yourself are in danger of becoming one of those who never rise to the occasion of your life, and this is what has motivated you to pick up this book. If this is so for you, you’ve done the exact right thing. For so much is at stake in you becoming yourself fully, not just for yourself but for all of us. For you hold the seeds of gifts and greatness within you that the world has never seen and will never see again after you are gone. It is not only a loss for the one who never blossoms, but also for all of us if your particularly beautiful fragrance never finds it’s way into our collective garden.

Yet, be heartened, for you are in the right place. What my dear colleagues, Susyn and Joan have created is nothing short of an in-spirited manual of love, offering a gorgeous step by step guide towards the realization of your most inspired and meaningful life. That they do so with deep transparency, authenticity, wisdom and heart makes them both highly relatable and deeply trustworthy. It’s as though you’re being granted wisdom in stereo from two loving friends you know beyond a shadow of a doubt are on your side and rooting for you, women who’ve been around the block a few times and know exactly of which they speak.

In this time of great transformation and turmoil, it is easy to turn away and move towards trying to organize our lives around feeling more safe and secure, dimming ourselves down for fear of getting our heads chopped off. However, what the world truly needs right now are those of us who have the courage to come fully alive, who bravely offer ourselves up with open hearts and open minds to take on living our most fully realized, most highly creative, and most deeply inspired lives.
