About the Author

DR. KOJO POBEE, MD, CMD, is the founder of MD for Seniors, a medical practice dedicated to long-term care that focuses exclusively on delivering physician services to patients where they reside: in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and, occasionally, in their homes. He obtained his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Ghana Medical School in West Africa. He completed his residency training at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and his fellowship course in geriatric medicine at the Loyola University Medical Center/Edward Hines, Jr., VA Hospital Program. Dr. Pobee is board-certified in both internal medicine and geriatrics, and the American Medical Directors Association has certified him as a Certified Medical Director.

Medicine is a permanent fixture in his life. His late father was a physician; his mother, wife, brother-in-law, several cousins, and other in-laws are all medical doctors. Sometimes family reunions can feel like medical conventions.
