About the Author

Mary Browning Schulman is a reading/language arts resource teacher who works alongside teachers and students at London Towne Elementary in Fairfax County, Virginia. She has had extensive experience as a classroom teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, teacher consultant for the Northern Virginia Writing Project, and Title I reading teacher and staff developer. A National Board Certified Teacher, Mary has made numerous presentations on reading and writing at state, national, and international conferences. She is the coauthor of Getting the Most Out of Morning Message and Other Shared Writing Lessons and Guided Reading: Making It Work, both published by Scholastic. Mary resides in northern Virginia with her family.
