About the Author

Helen Landalf is co-author of Movement Stories for Children Ages 3 with Pamela Gerke and Moving the Earth: Teaching Earth Science through Movement, Grades 3. She has been teaching, choreographing, and performing dance in the Seattle area since 1987, with an emphasis on teaching creative and modern dance to children. She is on the faculty of the Creative Dance Center in Seattle and has served as an Artist in Residence for the Montana Public Schools. She frequently presents workshops for preschool and classroom teachers on integrating dance into basic curriculum.

Pamela Gerke has been Director and Playwright for Kids Action Theater Play Productions in Seattle since she created it in 1988. She has written and produced over 25 children's plays, as well as being composer and music director for several other shows. Pamela understands the needs and issues of elementary education - having worked as an elementary school music and movement specialist since 1985. She currently divides her time between Kids Action Theater and choral conducting.
