50 Caliber Lipstick

It’s 1940, the war in Europe is in full swing and in Canada, Marge Thaden, a female pilot, is nursing wounds; the recent loss of her brother, a pilot in the air war over England; and a year old divorce. In the thrall of an overwhelming need to get part of her life back and prove herself as a competent pilot she takes a job flying a charter DC-3 heading to Maracaibo, Venezuela. She knows her ex-husband will be there and intends to fix her marriage.

She arrives before him, and prepares to wait, but the war and fate intervene. Propelled by uncommon determination and courage, the drive to prove herself carries her across the world by plane and boat, rescuing Jewish refugees, and eventually taking her to Nazi occupied France.

In Paris she mingles with both sides of the war, those loyal to the Allied nations, and traitors of the Axis Powers. But the real trouble starts when she is swept into a race to deliver military secrets from a group of Nazi scientists to Washington D.C. that could help win the war, or in trying, die a watery death in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
