Jay McInerney was a member of the much buzzed-about literary "Brat Pack" in the '80s, thanks to the success of his slick, savvy satire, Bright Lights, Big City. Today, McInerney is still writing tomes that are in tune with city life, like the post-9/11 meditation, The Good Life. "I do draw heavily on my own experience, he reflects. "Even when I felt that fiction was an inadequate response to the events of that time, I think somewhere in the back of my mind, I thought, 'someday, I will write about this.'"
