Curtis Sittenfeld broke into the literary big-time with her debut novel Prep, about a teen’s experiences at a New England Boarding School, and continued her success with The Man of My Dreams, about a young woman's search for love. In our interview, Sittenfeld talks about the line between herself and the female protagonists in her books. "Of course there are aspects of my own life that I draw from," she explains. "But -- I feel like my own life is relatively boring, so if it were just memoir, it would put everyone to sleep, including me!"
