Redeeming a Barnes & Noble Gift Card or eGift Card at Barnes & Noble.com If you would like to redeem your Gift Card or eGift Card for a NOOK Book™, single issue NOOK Magazine™, or single issue NOOK Newspaper™, then you must save the Gift Card or eGift Card to your account. Once saved, your Gift Card(s) will be automatically applied to these purchases. For any other items, browse our site to find the items you wish to buy and add them to your Shopping Cart. On the Shopping Cart page, click Checkout. Enter the Gift Card or eGift Card number and the PIN (the four-digit number also located on your Gift Card or eGift Card) on the Payment Page during Checkout. (Please note: Some Gift Cards do not have a PIN.) If the balance available on your Gift Card or eGift Card is less than the total cost of your order, you will be asked to provide an additional Gift Card, eGift Card, credit card information, pay via PayPal or select Pay by Phone. For NOOK Book, Magazine, or Newspaper purchases, any available Gift Card, eGift Card, or Online Gift Certificate balance will be redeemed first, and any outstanding balance will be charged to your default credit card. Gift Cards and eGift Cards cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards or eGift Cards. Redeeming a Barnes & Noble Gift Card or eGift Card at Barnes & Noble Retail Locations Simply present your Barnes & Noble Gift Card for payment at any Barnes & Noble, B. Dalton or Barnes & Noble College bookstore location. To redeem an eGift Card at a retail location, print out the eGift Card that you received, shop at any Barnes & Noble or B. Dalton bookstore and give the print-out to your cashier.  Please ensure that your print-out includes a barcode (if one is present), certificate number and PIN.  Please note that Barnes & Noble eGift Cards currently cannot be redeemed at Barnes & Noble College bookstores. Dalton Bookstore Location For a list of Barnes & Noble College Bookstores in your area, select your state from the drop-down list on the College Bookstore web site: Find a Barnes & Noble College Bookstore Redeeming Gift Cards and eGift Cards on Your NOOK® Now you can redeem Gift Cards and eCards right from your NOOK! Start by adding the card to your account. On NOOK HD and NOOK HD+: Tap on the Quick Settings icon and select "All Settings." On the following screen, tap "Shop," and then select "Gift Cards." Enter your gift card information. On NOOK Color™ and NOOK Tablet™: Select "Shop" from the Quick Nav, then "My Account" and "My Gift Cards." Tap on "Add Gift Card", enter your information, then click "Submit." Once the gift card information has been added to your account, you can buy something now or come back later. When you are ready to make a purchase, tap the green box next to the item's price and the following box that says "Confirm." Your purchase will immediately begin downloading. Any available Gift Card balance will be taken off your total first. If the amount of your Gift Card is less than your purchase total, the credit card you have on file (if any) will be used for the balance. That's all there is to it! Enjoy your NOOK purchase. PLEASE NOTE: You can redeem Gift Cards and eGift Cards for NOOK Books or single issues of NOOK Newspapers™ or NOOK Magazines™; however, they cannot be used to purchase digital subscriptions.

Redeeming an Online Gift Certificate at Barnes & Noble.com

If you would like to redeem your Online Gift Certificate for a NOOK Book™, single issue NOOK Magazine™, or single issue NOOK Newspaper™, then you must save the Gift Certificate to your account. Once saved, your Gift Certificate(s) will be automatically applied to these purchases.

For any other items, browse our site to find the items you wish to buy and add them to your Shopping Cart. On the Shopping Cart page, click Checkout. Enter the Online Gift Certificate number and the PIN (the four-digit number located on your certificate) on the Payment Page during Checkout. (Please note: Some Gift Certificates do not have a PIN.)

If the balance available on your Online Gift Certificate is less than the total cost of your order, you will be asked to provide an additional Gift Card, eGift Card, Online Gift Certificate, credit card information, pay via PayPal or select Pay by Phone. Redeeming a Barnes & Noble.com Online Gift Certificate at Barnes & Noble Retail Locations

To redeem an Online Gift Certificate at a retail location, print out the Online Gift Certificate that you received, shop at any Barnes & Noble or B. Dalton bookstore and give the print-out to your cashier. Please ensure that your print-out includes the Certificate number and PIN. Please note that Barnes & Noble Online Gift Certificates currently cannot be redeemed at Barnes & Noble College bookstores.
