Publishers need time to process a new Magazine subscription. Please allow 6 to 10 weeks for your first issue to arrive by mail.

There are no delivery charges for these items. Their cost does not count toward the $25 minimum to qualify for FAST&FREE DELIVERY of the rest of your order.

Special Situations

Weather, natural disasters, and other events beyond our control may affect shipping and delivery times. If conditions are serious and expected to last longer than a brief period of time, special instructions may be added to Checkout pages and to our automated voice response system.

Military Addresses: These are considered Domestic Extensions. See the section above for addressing instructions.

Correctional Institutions: If you are shipping to a correctional institution, we urge you to pay careful attention to its regulations and procedures. Facilities differ on the items they permit, shipping methods that may be used, and how to address a package.

What is a Business day?

Business Days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays observed by the Post Office and UPS.

Tax Information

In accordance with applicable law, Barnes & Noble.com collects tax in all states. Sales tax is applied to the total amount of the order, including shipping and handling charges and gift-wrap fees (where applicable) and is based on the shipment's destination state and local sales tax rates.

Barnes & Noble.com is able to process orders as tax exempt for qualifying entities. Instructions for processing tax exempt orders can be found by clicking the link below. The following states have no sales tax: AK, DE, MT, NH, OR, tax exempt entities do not have to provide any documentation for orders shipping to states that have no sales tax.

For your planning and convenience, we display an estimated sales tax amount when orders are placed. The exact sales tax will be calculated and charged at the time your order is shipped. Federal tax is only added to orders delivered in Canada and is displayed as GST (Goods and Services Tax).

While Gift Cards are not subject to sales tax, many states tax the shipping and handling charges associated with the purchase of a Gift Card. Barnes&Noble.com collects this tax for Gift Card orders that are shipped to all but the following states: AZ, ID, MA, OK, and WY.

Items purchased through our PC & Video Games store are supplied by GameStop. GameStop collects tax on these items in all but the following states: AK, DE, MT, NH, and OR, which have no sales tax. Generally, this tax is applied to the total amount of the order, including shipping and handling charges and gift-wrap fees, however GameStop does not collect tax on shipping for the following states: AZ, IA, ID, IN, MA, ME, MO, UT, and WY.

Magazines are not subject to sales tax.

Bibles are tax exempt in Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri and Texas. Bible sales tax credits can only be applied after the order has already shipped. Customers must email their request for credit to taxes@book.com.

Fees paid for Member cards are taxable in the following states: Arizona, California, New Mexico, and New York.
