Please refer to each title’s product detail page on our site to verify whether your selection qualifies for the 20% Adult Hardcover discount. Eligible Hardcover titles will list the "Member Price" on each product detail page, which includes the applicable Member discount. For example, the "Member Price" on the product page for a Barnes & Noble Hardcover Bestseller will reflect the 40% off list price Member discount. Adult Hardcovers eligible for the Member 20% off List Price discount will have that discount reflected on their respective product pages. The 20% off List Price Member discount does not apply to certain products including gift items (such as hardcover journals), hardcover books in the Barnes & Noble “bargain,” “teens,” and “juvenile” or “Barnes & Noble Jr.” areas.

40% and 20% Member discounts off the list price cannot be combined with other discounts. For example, a B&N Hardcover Bestseller, with a list price of $25.00 will be discounted at 40% off to $15.00 for Members, irrespective of whether there are additional discounts listed against the book's list price.
The 10% Member discount will be applied after all other discounts and deductions have been applied to the purchase. For example, a DVD discounted at 20% off the list price to all customers will be sold at an additional 10% discount to Barnes & Noble Members. In other words, a DVD with a list price of $40.00 and a 20% discount will be sold to all customers for $32.00. Barnes & Noble Members receive an additional 10% off for a Member price of $28.80.
How do I get my discount when shopping in stores?
To receive your discount, simply provide your Member Card at the register. Your discount is automatically applied to all valid purchases.
How do I get my discount when shopping online?
You will be asked during checkout to provide your Barnes & Noble Member number to receive your discount. Your Member number will then be linked to your www.bn.com account and applied automatically each time you make a purchase online. I bought a large number of books in-store or online recently. Can the Member discount be applied after I've made that purchase?

Can anyone use my Member Card to receive the discount in the store?
Your Barnes & Noble Member Card is non-transferable and for your use only.
What if I don't have my Member Card with me in the store? Can you look up my Member number? Will I still get my discount?
Your Member Card is the access to your benefits, and it is important that you carry it with you to receive your discounts in the store. If you happen to forget your Member Card and have completed a Member profile that includes your phone number, we can retrieve your Member information in the store at checkout.
My discount wasn't applied to an online order. Why?
If your discount was not applied to an online order, it may be because your Member number has not been stored in your www.bn.com account. Once your Member number has been stored, it will remain on your www.bn.com profile and will automatically apply your Member discount for as long as your Membership is active. Note that if you've requested a replacement Member card, you will receive a new Member number and your www.bn.com account will need to be updated.

Your applicable Member discounts are applied at the time of purchase in store or online. When you use your Barnes & Noble MasterCard to make any purchase online at www.bn.com or in any Barnes & Noble store nationwide, a credit in the value of 5% of such purchases will be posted to your Barnes & Noble MasterCard account. The 5% credit will appear on the same billing statement as the charge for the related eligible purchase. The 5% rebate does not apply to Gift Card purchases through the Barnes & Noble Gift Card Corporate Sales program.
