Where can I find my Member Number and Membership expiration date?

If you have a bn.com account, and have previously made an online purchase using your Member card, access the 'Your Account' page at www.bn.com. The Member number associated with your bn.com account will be displayed near the top of the page, along with your Membership expiration date.

Can I have a second Member Card for my account?

No, Membership benefits are for your individual use only and are non-transferable.

What do I do if I lose my Member Card?

You may request a replacement card by contacting Member Services via our email request form or by calling 866-238-READ.

How can I find out how I much I have saved this year with my Membership?

Call Member Services at 866-238-READ. Please have your Member number available when you call.

How do I contact Member Services?

Why am I getting an error message indicating that my Member number is invalid when I order at www.bn.com?

There are several reasons why you may be experiencing an error message:

If you recently purchased your Membership in a Barnes & Noble bookstore, it may not be activated online yet -- it normally takes 1-2 business days for Memberships purchased in-store to work online.

Your Member number may not have been entered accurately. Check the number and re-enter it. Please note, your phone number cannot be used in place of your Member number online.

If your Member number is already stored in your bn.com account, you do not need enter it again at checkout.

If you've requested a replacement Member card, your Member number will have changed and your bn.com account will need to be updated.


Can I use my home phone number in place of my Member number at www.bn.com?

Only your Member number can be used to ensure that your Member discount is applied to your online order.

Where do I enter my Member number at www.bn.com?

If you've never shopped online at www.bn.com you must first set up an account. After your account is set up and you log in, enter your Member number in the "Redeem Discounts" section at the top right side of the Payment page during checkout.

If you already have a www.bn.com account, on the Review page during checkout, click on the "Have a coupon or Barnes & Noble Membership?” to enter your Member number.


Can my Member number be associated with more than one www.bn.com account?

Your Member number may only be linked to one www.bn.com account at a time. If you wish to change the email address associated with this www.bn.com account, please call Member Services at 866-238-READ.

If I buy my Membership online, do I still need to enter my Member number the next time I make a purchase online?

Yes. You will need to enter your Member number the next time you make a purchase on bn.com -- after that, we'll remember it for you. For more information on how to enter your Member number, click here.

Can both my Member number and my Educator number be associated to one bn.com account?

Yes, you are permitted to have both a Member number and an Educator number associated with the same www.bn.com account. However, you cannot apply both discounts to the same order.

I have a Member number associated with my bn.com account. How do I add my Educator number online?

If you have a www.bn.com account, and have previously made an online purchase using your Member card, select the "Change" button under the Payment section. Then enter your Educator number in the Membership Number field. After you press "Calculate Order Total", you may then choose which discount you want to apply to your order each time you visit. However, you cannot apply both discounts to the same order. The corresponding savings for each discount option selected will appear on your screen.
