William Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury

BOOK The novel, Faulkner's fourth and his personal favorite, depicts the decline of the Compson family, doomed inhabitants of the author's mythical Yoknapatawpha County.

 Fats Waller's A Handful of Keys

BOOK Fats Waller, who, in the popular imagination, remains one of the great comic figures in jazz, was also a piano virtuoso. His mastery of the stride technique can be heard in "A Handful of Keys" and "Numb Fumblin'."
