Quoyle, a third-rate newspaperman, is waiting for his life to begin, and ironically, it begins with the death of his cheating wife and his subsequent move, with his two daughters, back to the family home in Newfoundland.

Working with innovative producer Craig Street, vocalist Cassandra Wilson recorded the groundbreaking BLUE LIGHT TIL DAWN, on which she reinterpreted signature songs by Van Morrison, Robert Johnson, Ann Peebles, and others, expanding the stylistic range of contemporary jazz singing.
