Valerie Dowdy is a visual artist, who lives in Southwest Virginia. Until publishing, Abstract Expressions Coloring Book Volumes One and Two, she has been primarily a visual artist. Valerie is currently creating a new portfolio, when it was suggested that her journals would make great coloring books. For Valerie, her journals are a form of meditation, relaxation and place to formulate new designs. She fuses her intricate drawing technique with a surrealistic style of painting. In sharing her personal journals, Valerie hopes that she can help others find a way to refocus, grow their creativity, relax and have fun.
