About the Author

Seehum Isa grew up in a Mexican, Palestinian household. Her mother is Mexican and of the Catholic religion, while her father is Palestinian and of the Muslim religion. She grew up in Orlando, Chicago, but mostly in El Paso, Texas. She currently resides in Arlington, Texas where she is completing her degree in Public Relations at the University of Texas at Arlington. Seehum has spoken at events such as TEDxTalk on finding faith when you’re born into two religions. She has served as a leadership advisor to student leadership organizations at the University of Texas at Arlington. And has served as the President of a human rights activist organization, Students for Justice in Palestine. “I believe in a better tomorrow. I believe we as humans can find it in ourselves to love one another no matter the differences. I don’t think this is an obligation, I believe it is our duty as mankind. We were not made different to judge or hate one another; we were created different to learn from one another. So let’s stop ridiculing and start embracing.”
