After spending hours looking at all covers available in December 2010 I knew I only wanted a brunel cover. My first choice was for the red brunel cover, which was on back order. "Settling" for the cover in black seemed like the second best option. I agree that the dark interior color works the best for me, and once I saw the ruby red brunel cover with a beige interior, I rejected my original first choice. After owning this cover for six months now I can still highly recommend this cover. It has one pocket which is enough to carry a paper or two and the cleaning cloth. I can easily clip on a stylus as one would a pen and still close the cover. I never had an issue with the screen getting scratched by the magnetic clasp which was described by one reviewer.
Why I recommend this cover 1) three point clips to hold the nook 2) dark interior 3) small pocket to hold cleaning cloth 4) like this style
B&N - how about making all your inside fabrics this dark suede instead of your usual beige?

Most people want something to keep the cover closed, so this is nice because it has the magnetic mini flap to keep it closed. Very simple, classy, and stylish. Light-weight as well so it doesn't add more unneeded weight to the device. I give it an A+!

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I got my nook color for Christmas and needless to say, bad time to try to buy a cover. Many covers just were not available. I ended up purchasing this cover in the store and have to say I am impressed with it. I especially like the dark coloring on the inside of the cover. I think the nook color looks much better against the dark background. The interior is soft, the cover folds back nicely when reading, the magnetic strap folds back and out of the way when reading, and the 3 point holding system feels secure. The other thing that was important to me was the magnetic closure. Many of the covers do not have a closure on them and I was concerned that the cover would flop open in my purse or suitcase. I hope Barnes and Noble comes out with some different covers in lots of colors but with a dark interior. It looks so much better with the dark color of the nook color.

Originally, I wanted the red cover; but, since the store didn't have it, I bought the black (probably won't show dirt). This cover has a nice feel to it, and is pleasant to hold. Folks, the cover smells like leather - which is nice - and it does have a pocket on the inside cover.
A sales person put my Nook Color in the jacket for me, and it fits nice and snug. Also, the tab stays put when you flip it backwards (magnetic hold).

I was between this cover and another one and the decision eventually came down to this cover. At first glance, I was a little concerned about the smooth leather and dark interior showing finger oil/scuffs but neither has proven to be a huge issue. My nook feels secure, but it doesn't add a lot of bulk (which is good since the color is a bit heavy). When I want to give it a bit more cushioning, I can just slip it out and into my quilted Vera case and back in again later.
The good: SOFT material inside and out, design, protection, ease of use
The bad: the soft material DOES scratch/indent some but not horribly so
The ugly: the finish on the ONE metal part is wearing off some.
The finish wearing off is pretty ugly and annoying. It's weird that the top and not the edge is what wore. Functionally, the cover is still as good as the first day. I DO tend to "eat" through paint and such on sunglasses and similar items so it could be something about my body chemistry.

I bought this cover a year ago and I love it. I take my nook with me in my purse and I needed something that stayed closed to avoid screen damage. My screen still looks beautiful. I was concerned that the metal clasp would leave scratch marks but I have never found any. I have even dropped my nook once or twice and the case and nook are still just like when I purchased them.

The case is very nice looking. Simple, elegant. The clips for the nook seem sturdy, and you can fold the cover all the way over and back on itself so you can hold it with one hand. I also got it because I wanted something with a strap so the cover wouldn't fly open if I grabbed it wrong.
However...
The front cover, after only a couple of days, started bowing outward. By this I mean at the spine it was fine, but at the edge opposite the spine, it no longer set flat on the Nook.
This meant that the strap had little grip. The magnet in the cover isn't that strong to begin with, and it seems that it must also be very small. With the cover warping up, the strap no longer sat on the cover (when closed) in the same spot that it did for the first couple of days. The magnetic pull, because the metal tip of the strap was no longer sitting right over the magnet, was really weakened to the point that it was almost pointless to have it.
While I did like the fact that the strap could be folder back on the cover to get out of the way, on mine after doing this for a only few days the stiffness of the leather strap was surprisingly quickly compromised. It left me wondering if the small stitching that held the strap onto the back would last a year or not.
I returned it and instead got paid the extra $10 for this one. So far I'm happy with it, but I've barely used it as of yet:
Soho Cover in Chestnut (apparently I can't post a direct link to it in the reviews, even if the link is to Barnes and Noble - so go search for it)
I rated it 3 stars. I realize that my experiences may not be the same as everyone else's, and maybe I got a bum cover. It is certainly elegant looking and unlike the new one that I got, I feel that the dark/black "suede" interior is superior to the beige interiors on many other units as it shows dirt less, and seems like a nicer material than the suede on my new one.

Love the clasp and inside there is a pocket I keep my extra screen protector and cleaning cloth in. When you open cover to use Nook, the magnetic clasp sticks to back of Nook out of the way. They think of everthing!! The covers are a little more in price than with my first edition #1 because it uses more material. Still a good buy and quite an enhancement to the greatest device on the market.

I tried to buy this after Christmas for my Nook Tablet, but our local store had been thoroughly picked through. But this cover is well worth the wait. It feels comfortable in your hand, looks fabulous, and fits like a glove in my Nook Signature Stashel. Now, everything is complete!

Just got this cover today. Wanted it since the beginning but was out of stock. Love the magnetic closure and rood do hold a notepad/post-its. Highly recommend this. Get it before it is "temporarily unavailable" again!

I bought my nook color over a year ago and while I loved it I missed holding a real book. This cover gives my Nook a really nice feel and the clasp holds it shut or folds back for reading. Charging is easy as nothing is in the way of the power cord. With a dark interior and a pocket on the inside cover I really can't see a cover that could make me any happier.

This cover is very attractive. I do like the dark lining since it makes concentrating on the screen easier.
Since it is lightweight I can carry my Nook Tablet with me in my pocketbook, and always have it available.

I was in the store for at least an hour and this was my first and last choice. I would reccommend this cover. It adds a lot of style to your reader.

LOVE IT, I've had it for a few months now, couldn't have asked for a better cover! Will probably buy a second one to keep on hand, in case they ever stop making this one, would highly recommend!

It looks great, the clasp flipped over and hit my nook and scratched the side and the screen. Thank goodness I had a screen protector but now I have a huge gash on the side of my nook.
