I was lucky and got both my Nook and this cover on Dec 9th. The Chesterton is very nice, soft leather with stiff front and back, and holds the Nook very well. For reading, I fold the front cover all the way back, actually making the Nook easier to hold and navigate than the Nook alone.

I love this cover overall, but when packing for a trip - there's a crease in the front cover with a seam that leaves a mark across your screen if it's packed inbetween anything. Not hard to get back off, but annoying. Next time I'll pick a cover that is seamless.

We purchased one of these as a gift and I also received one as a gift.
It's a wonderful leather cover that feels like your holding a book, and I love the inside pockets.
I think the leather made cover is wonderful, especially for someone who worries about getting their covers dirty... some of the other cloth feel covers could easily get dirty, but this one is perfect for less worries.
It's very well made and sturdy. I would have no worries taking this cover to the beach or to a restaraunt.
I also think, if you are unable to choose a cover, buy more than one like I have :)

I loved the quote, the soft feel of the leather, and how easy it was to hold while reading. However, I discovered one massive drawback. The pocket seams on mine are hard and unyielding. Something got inadvertently set on the nook/cover, and the pocket seams dug into the reading screen and raised black marks --to match the seams-- within the screen itself. They appeared whether the nook was on or off. They made the lower quarter of the screen completely unreadable. I had to send my brand-new device back for a pre-owned one. I was very disappointed that the cover did more damage than good. I bought an independently-designed three-paneled "portfolio" cover for $20 more than I paid for this one, and have been far more satisfied with it. I recommend to anyone to get a cover with no pockets against the screen and thick padding and stiff reinforcing.

Not only is it stylish but it protects my new expensive device! The leather is a nice soft but enduring material. I also love the fact that it has inside pockets and holds the Nook perfectly (you can even charge it while it is in the cover as there is an opening on the bottom). I find it easier to read with the cover on since you can fold the front cover back or leave it open as you would a book. Between all the other expensive choices out there, this cover was inexpensive and serves its purpose perfectly. Love the qoute as well!

I have no qualms with this cover. It's nice, I like the quote, and it does what I bought it to do: it supports and protects my nook. There are several inner pockets for bus cards, bookmarks, etc, and the fold back cover is perfect for clipping on the nook light.
What more can I say? I love it.

Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. This is a really nice cover. I love the quote etched on the front cover. The brown is a very rich sable color, not almost black like it seems in the pictures. (The pictures don't do it justice) The faux leather is very supple and feels great in your hands. Between my husband and myself, we own 4 covers (Well, he's happy with one, but I like to change my cover with my mood!) What I like about this cover is the color on the inside. It's a medium brown rather than a light taupe like some of the others, so when you fold it back as you're reading, I don't think it'll show fingerprints or daily wear so easily. If you're on the fence about ordering this, go ahead and jump off...do it!!!

I finally received the Chesterton Quote Cover after ordering the Bleecker Cover Asphalt and waiting for three weeks and being told that the cover was on back-order again. The Chesterton Quote Cover in Coffee is nice in appearance, sturdy and protects the Nook. I think Barnes & Noble should sell these covers in store just not on-line.

I think the headline says it all. Although I had initial qualms of something that is so grandly described as Italian-made faux leather, I must say it is well made, and feels very smooth and comfortable to the hand, akin to suede leather. The extra pockets are very handy especially if you use this for travel in airports as I do. The elastic retainers holding the Nook appear to hold up well so far but I have had this item only since early January so we will see if it stands the test of time. I find it somewhat pricey though for something that is "faux leather" but it is a "luxury" accessory, I suppose, and still nowhere as expensive as a Kate Spade cover!

This is the second cover I have purchased for my Nook. Did not purchase it first, because it was not available. I love that it opens and closes and feels like a real book. I purchsed for the protection of my Nook. No matter how many times I toss it into my purse or a bag and take it everywhere with me, it remains it good condition due to the front and back covers. I also like the pockets inside. If there is something important I need to deal with I tuck it in those pockets to remind me. Definitly worth the investment.

soft, great feel/grip, back cover folds over so it's easy to hold one handed.
The Nook fits very snug.
This is a fantastic price for this cover.
I would find it tough to top it.

After anxiously awaiting this cover for 2 months after getting the Nook...it's a winner! The functionality, the feel and the appearance of this cover makes it a perfect accessory for the Nook. The quote always makes me smile. A friend got the green cover, and it's nice, but I think the rich brown will be more satisfying for the long term.

I waited quite awhile to get a cover for my nook. I need to touch things and try them out before I buy. One touch of the soft leather and I knew I needed this cover for my nook. So thrilled to be able finally to go places with my nook.

Gave the cover for a gift. The receiver LOVED it! Front cover folds back out of the way to fully expose the Nook, pockets on the inside cover for airline tickets, notes, etc. Tasteful, holds up well and doesn't show marks or scratches.

This cover is exactly what I wanted. I ordered it at the store and had forgotten it has these convenient pockets to store cards, notes etc. It fits my nook exactly and the light I bought to attach to it fits perfectly.
I don't have to take my nook out to charge it and all buttons are fully accessible. Another nice thing is that the bind is soft enough to fold back and I can prop it open like a stand if needed.

It's sturdy, and the front cover folds back which gives me a better grip on the nook.
I definitely recommend this!

I've had my cover for about six months now, waited on the review to see how it would hold up and I must say I'm very impressed. The cover itself is wonderful, very soft to the touch and sturdy enough to give my Nook some real protection. I love that it makes my Nook feel like a real book but I can also fold the front flap around back without having to worry about damaging the cover. After months of hard use the leather both inside and out is in wonderful condition despite being roughly handled by two small children. On top of that I can clip my Nook light on the top and both sides of my Nook without having to remove the cover. I can't recommend this cover highly enough!

Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I went out and bought the Chesterton Quote Cover in Coffee a couple days before I got my Nook Wi-Fi in the mail. I was relieved to have a cover for my Nook right away, because I knew the Nook would be taking place of the paperbacks I always have stuffed in my purse and I wanted the screen to be protected. Unfortunately, after a few weeks of carrying the Nook around in my purse I realized that my beautiful, soft faux-leather cover was being scratched to pieces by keys, pens, and other things kept in my purse. Also, I took my nook out a few times and found things trapped between the cover and the screen of my Nook. This is because there is nothing to hold the front flap closed - and defeated the purpose of my having a cover, since the goal was protecting the screen of my Nook.
I decided to just use a rubber band to keep the cover closed while traveling, but I was upset to find that after a day of traveling that way, the rubber band had left a marked indentation in the Chesterton cover. It's nowhere near as pretty now as when I got it, and I was upset to find such a gorgeous, supple cover ruined just from sitting in my purse!
In the end, I went out to a Barnes & Noble store and looked at several other covers, and I finally settled on the Madison Trifold in Crimson. I'm still hanging on to the Chesterton cover, because I love the quote and the feel of the cover wen I read, but if I'm going out anywhere, I'm taking the Madison.
I would still recommend the Chesterton quote because it is a great-looking cover. It looks and feels like a nice leather journal, and makes reading the Nook easier because you can hold the cover just like a book. I would just caution buyers to be aware that it can't take much rough handling so you'll have to find a way to protect both Nook and cover when you're taking it out somewhere.

The color is a rich brown is ultra soft to the touch. The only drawback to this cover is that it is not as sturdy as my other cover. The edges at the top pull due to the weight of the Nook. Other than that however, I love the feel of this cover. It folds back perfectly for comfort of reading and the pocket comes in handy when I'm out and about (I never leave my Nook at home!)

An embossed quote from G. K. Chesterton ("Literature is a luxury; fiction is a necessity.") graces this luxuriously soft Italian milled synthetic leather cover that helps protect your nook from handling and scratches while you read. Functional interior pockets offer a place for notes and business cards.
