I'm fine with the clip on portion of this cover.  It makes it easy to remove as I prefer to read without a cover on at all.  I just need a way to protect the screen when I put my nook in my purse or a tote bag.  This is completely worthless for that.  There is no way to secure the cover on the right side so anything can still get to the screen. Not only that, but those of us used to "smart" covers are used to the power going off when they are closed.  This is more of a "dumb" cover.  It does nothing to prevent the cover from pushing the n button on the front and waking up the nook every time.  It even turned on the glow light in my bag.  Not great for battery life.  I was also surprised by the thinness of the cover and lack of rigidity, it actually bent in and touched the screen with slight pressure.  I will be looking for another way to protect my nook.

I purchased this cover being that it is currently the only option available to market.
This is a horrible excuse for a cover and an expensive one at that.
I returned it next day after seeing how lacking it was in the protection department and how it was really only a flap to cover the screen when not in use.
    Pointless otherwise.
These should have been given out for free only to see that no one actually uses them anyway :/

This "cover" is a complete joke.  Looking at it you expect it to be like one of those magnetic "smart" covers that adheres to the device.  It's not.  Not only does it not adhere to the nook at all, it leaves a huge gap where it folds over the front of the nook.  And given how the edges of the new nook curve down, it's pretty much a given that something is going to wedge itself in there.  The only joke bigger than this cover is the fact that they're charging $22 for it.  I mostly like the new nook itself but this so-called cover is less than worthless.  You might as well just scotch tape a stiff piece of paper to the side of your nook, because that's about all you're getting out of this "cover".

What an embarrassment for Barnes and Noble. $21.95 for a worthless piece of crap front cover that doesn't do squat to protect your new Nook. Not only did I return this cover, but I also returned the Glowlight. If Barnes and Noble doesn't put the effort into creating a REAL protective cover option for their device, then I don't want to invest my money in their digital content. LAZY! I'm looking into a Kobo now. At least they know how to offer protective covers that aren't a total rip off and they also support ePub titles, unlike Kindle.

    This cover is useless!

I'm in love with my new Nook Glowlight and eagerly picked this cover up to go with it. It is completely useless. Not only is it very cheap looking but it does not really even work well as a cover. It doesn't sit flush with the unit, it turns the unit on if you move it, there is no magnet or other closure to keep it on, and just generally it feels insufficient. I'm not sure what product development department let this one out the bag but I'd be having a chat with them about now. I cannot even get it to sit evenly at all so it looks completely lame!

My advise for you is to visit one of the stores and actually try this cover before you purchase it! This is NOT like one of those smart cover you used to on an iPad. It does not auto power off the device when closed. Worse yet, it drains the battery by pushing on the n button when I put in a backpack!

When i bought the glowlight i didn't like the looks of this cover so i used my old simple touch cover and it worked just fine. Doesn't click in but because of the rubber trim it stays in place.

I wish I could gove this no stars, because thats how terrible this cover is. I can't believe this is the only option BN gave for glowlight covers. I LOVE my glowlight (upgraded from a NST). This crappy cover does nothing to protect my investment. It drains my battery in my purse, it slides on and off easily and for 21.95 they should have done much better. I"m a nook loyalist, but BN certainly tried that loyalty on this terrible product. I didn't return it because right now there are no other options that specifcally fit the glowlight. What were they thinking???They could have made a killing with people who wanted to give the glowlight as a gift with a cover.

I'd love to upgrade my nook first edition with the nook glowlight but now I won't because of the lack of case options.  I saw these in the store and they were cheap, flimsy, and there was no full case protection or latch of any kind.  I refuse to upgrade until they get better cases...and I mean cases not a "flap."  Having just a flap does not protect your device when throwing it in your bag, sure it may cover the screen but thats if it stays on.  There is no magnets or latch to hold it it place so basically it's worthless.  I'm not buying a $119 device that cant be protected properly.  They NEED more options.  Seriously... 3 choices of the same design just different colors?  Whoever came up with that plan probably shouldn't continue with marketing/sales because its probably not their fortay by the looks of things.
Please bring back the cases that actually feel like your holding a book!

I wish there was an option to give 0 stars or a grade of -1000. I feel robbed! You are making people pay $21.95 for a "protective" cover that doesn't protect at all.... it's a ruse to get us to buy another nook in a year since this cover will not protect it at all. Very disappointing B&N

I swear I really wanted to like this, but I feel like its $22 in the garbage. Great Nook, lousy cover. I ended up buying a neoprene case at Staples. Save yourself the money and find something else. For all the thought and great covers that the other Nooks have, I can't figure how B&N could fail so badly on this one.

I bought this cover and I almost thought I knew what I was getting. I did not expect it to be the same quality as an Apple Smart cover, despite the very similar design, and I did not expect it to power off the device or anything like that. But what I didn't realize the HUGE flaw in this cover is that it doesn't even lay flat on the nook half the time...how is this supposed to protect my screen when it won't even cover it most of the time? If it won't stay shut over the device there is literally no use for it. I could stick my nook in a ziplock bag with a piece of cardboard over the screen and it would do a better job than this cover.

Despite general opinion, I like this cover. I don't like covers , but the experience with the previows glowlight version tought me that this screen needs protection. And this is what this cover is for. Protects the screeen and is not bulky or heavy.

I hated this cover so much as it provides no protection. And since there aren't any covers for the new glowlight that are like the covers for the other devices, I returned the glowlight. I'll stick to my simple touch with glowlight that I can use an actual, protective cover with.

I returned this cover because it was worthless.  I was browsing the clearance section at Target and found a cover for the "Nook 2" on clearance for under $10.  I was pleasantly surprised to find it fit my new Glowlight perfectly.  I don't think B&N sells the covers anymore but look around for Nook 2 covers other places if you want a better cover.
