Best Booklight EVER! - But use it on the SPINE as description states....

The previous 2 reviewers are using it wrong. The spike goes over the SPINE of the book, not the pages or cover, and that is what makes this little lite AWESOME!! It is plenty bright, without being overly bright, and the light quality/color is better than other LEDs I've tried. The head swivels so you can move it left or right depending on what page you are on. And the gooseneck lets you position it just right. I have tried more than a dozen different booklites over the years and this is THE ONE. I looked it up online because I need a new one (plastic part on old one finally broke after a couple years' use) and am excited that the B&N down the street has one for me. I was surprised at the other reviews and had to create an account here and give my own review just to set the record straight and give this lite the kudos and 5-star rating it deserves. REMEMBER: YOU HAVE TO USE IT ON THE SPINE! (...unlike every other booklight which sides onto the cover)

    Practical And Sleek Light

It does the job. It gives strong reading light. Ideal for paperbacks, you can also use it for large hardbacks. Good price and pretty sturdy for made in china :| My only gripe is that this isn't made in the United States.

    Great booklight! Read the directions....

This is an amazing booklight, after having been through some others- you can't go wrong with this one. If you read the directions and use it as it was intended to be used- you will completely agree with me.

If you don't read the packaging and do not use it as it was meant to be used- you will be another person rating this booklight a rating that it does not deserve.

It is convenient, bright, and compact. I like it so much I had to buy my self another one after my friend decided to take my first one- she loves it too.

    Great Book LIGHT!

There are so many book lights out there--- and i looked at a lot of them! This one is great! Fits on the book spine well-- is bright enough with out being to bright. It also travels very well. I am very happy with it.

    Pretty good book light

I bought this for ease of battery use, compactness, and style. The round battery chamber is more awkward than I had expected for reading in bed, as it moves around when clipped to some of my paperbacks. The LED lights provide good light for reading, although I find myself moving the head around between right and left pages. Still, I would recommend this light to others.

    Terribly designed. DON'T buy this.

I have one of these, and the only reason I've kept it is because it was a very sweet little gift from my very sweet well-meaning husband. After months of struggling with it, I decided there's no need to keep doing so, and am buying a different kind which clips on smoothly. This one ruins book pages because it must be continously pulled up and out and then repositioned again and again the further one reads along. The top of the long, round clunky part, which serves no purpose, spins around of its own free will and the whole thing is absolutely annoying. Do yourself a nice favor and get a booklight created with a simple common-sense design.

2 LED black spike light clip-on Booklight

I bought this to tide me through the recent power outage and replace the booklight I wore out during the last power outage. Such is life in New Hampshire. The spike light is a much better product, shedding more intense light over a broader area. Since the spike is centered in the book's spine you don't have to re-adjust after each page like you do with a wide-clip light that clips to the cover on either side.

    OK for the money

They can put a man on the moon; why can't they design a booklight that lasts :) This little book light is good in theory. The "spike" goes in the spine of the book and then the light is supposed to rotate to whatever page you're on. Well, it did rotate the first time I used it and then I must have rotatad it too much, because the clip holding it together broke. It's now held together with a rubber band. But it does work! I purchased this book light because it looked like it might last. For years I would buy a new Itty Bitty book light (which I loved), but because the wiring from the plug into the light ALWAYS went bad after a few months, I decided I was spending too much. For the cost, this is a good light. I like the fact that it takes a regular battery.

    Great for hard back books

This item slips perfectly into the spline of most harback books and adds enough light to read comfortably with out bothering anyone else. The item is light weight and can be taken anywhere with little effort.

You shoule think about it when u purchase it.

It is really convinent, but the problem is, it is kind of hard to stick on a book. When I clip it on the book, it fell down again and again,so I use my hand to hold it.
The good thing is, when I go to a trip, I can use it for lighting!! So convient!

    Spike Light Clip-On Booklight

This is probably the best booklight I have ever purchased and it was recommended by a sales associate. I appreciated her knowledge about the various lights and she sure was right on about this one. I highly recommend it to anyone that uses booklights. Wouldn't change it for anything.

    LED Book Light

I love this item. I bought two, one for myself and one for my husband, and it has been great. The light actually illuminates both pages of the book on each side and it's bright so you can see. If you read in the dark or have travel needs, this is the perfect product.

    Great for reading!

My fiance has used this booklight for several weeks now and it's working pretty good. There's enough light for him to read but it's not so bright that it keeps me from falling asleep.

    Worth the buy

I was actually pretty impressed with the quality of this product. It could stand to be a little more flexible but I use it not only for reading but as a regular flash light if I need to get up in the middle of the night. Very handy.

This light is ok. It's not as bright as I thought it would be. You have to keep moving it to cover the reading area. I think there are probably better book light out there. This wasn't expensive (under 20 bucks). You get what you pay for!

    It works

It works. If i had to do it over again i would buy one that didnt clip on, because it can be annoying to have to take it off after every page. It also flickers a bit. It doesnt do it all the time, but if i turn it off and then on again, it will act right.

    seemed like a good idea...

I thought this would be very convenient but it turned out to be very annoying. You have to remove and replace it every time you need to turn a page. Otherwise it was a good light. I returned it and got a different type.

    Clip-On Lights

I was very disappointed with my purchase of the lights - the first one didn't provide hardly any light. The second one I purchased broke after using it for a week. Would never buy these again.
