I have chosen these for my life journals
When I decided to start journaling for life, I bought probably about 10 different types of journals, from the basic (such as this one) to the premium (leather-bound, gold-edged pages) to try out. While I liked some of the high-end journals, this one really stood out for its value and practicality. First of all, you can't beat the price. Second, you get a good, sturdy, very usable and comfortable product! I am 2/3 of the way through my first one and it only shows a bit of wear on the corners, because I cart it around all over the place. The sewn binding is strong yet flexible, and opens flat once you break it in a bit. The cover is tough, and the part that protects the binding (where it folds) shows no signs of tearing from the fatigue of frequent use. I like the basic style: clean and black. I hope to keep several volumes over the years, and they will look good stacked in a row on a bookshelf. I like the size-- just right for carrying around, not too small to write in. I like the size of the writing lines, and the small margin around them. I like the ribbon to keep my place. In short, although this is not a premium journal and does not use premium materials, it is sturdy, affordable, and gets all the important things right. I'm buying a box of them for future use and to give as gifts.
