I got this for my 17" laptop. My laptop only *just* fits on this, so it wouldn't be suitable for anything bigger. I've been using it for nearly 1.5 hours this morning and it's become uncomfortably hot, so it's not suitable if you need to stay on your laptop for extended periods.
Regardless, it's an improvement over balancing my laptop on a pillow.

I was looking for something to help hold my Nook at a readable distance and still be close enough for me to see the words. Holding the Nook and scanning the pages of a really good book can become very tiring on the hands and fingers. Also, I like my hands to be free to get a drink, answering the phone, or even let my dog out the door. The Laptop Desktop has swirly black raise rubber design on it that holds my Nook in place while I am sitting in a recliner, in the car seat, or on the bed when I like to read before going to sleep. There are also two little lip type lifters that come up and while I really don't know what their purpose is, I have used them to hold the bottom of the Nook in place while I have been in some awkward sitting places, sitting on a stool and a stone hearth once. I am glad I purchased the Laptop Desktop as it has been the best and useful holder for my Nook. Oh and it also has compfy puff fiber filled underneath so as not to cut into or be uncomfotable on your legs.

It's small, light, perfect for MacBook Pro 15", isolates the heat, just awesome!
I like to lay on my back, flex my legs and have the computer on my thighs, which is impossible with a laptop unless you rest it on your stomach. This lapdesk has those two tabs at the top that raise the computer, and they also work to prevent it from sliding when I am laying down :)
I bought one at the store over a year ago, and because the rubber on the edges wore out I had to replace it, and I went to three different B&N before checking online... please have these again in the stores!!! the giant lapdesks they have are awfully big.

I like the non-slippery surface and small size all around.

It is the perfect size for my 17" laptop. Very comfortable and adjustable with the microbead filling that allows it to mold to my lap. Use it all the time. Love it!

I have a netbook and this is the perfect size--my regular widescreen laptop is too big to fit on it, however. It is perfect for use when I am sitting in my recliner or propped up in bed.

This lap desk worked just fine until the beads started coming out. I would have just sewed up the hole, except the problem was that a button ripped off. It was okay and relatively cheap, somewhat uncomfortable, but did the job.

This laptop desk is inexpensive yet does exactly what you would expect - a superior product.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I purchased this laptop lapdesk because I needed something smaller for my mini acer laptop. It is wonderful! I've used it almost everyday since the purchase. It also works for a regular sized laptop which my son and husband have proved time and time again. Very pleased with the product!
I would recommend it to everyone!

after a month or so though, the beads started falling off the spaces that you can adjust to stabilize your laptop... i tried to fix it or brush it off, but it seems like it has different texture. i have a baby sister and i'm worried that beads are still somewhere in my room and she'll accidentally inhale it!!!

An recommended item if your desk isn't where you primarily use your laptop. It's keeps your lap cool while allowing your laptop to breath so it doesn't over heat. With the rubber covering it prevents the laptop from sliding everywhere when your move to reach for something, VERY handing when using the laptop when your a student, deal with kids, or hyperactive animals on a regular bases.

I have owned one for just over two months. Stability is great, but sometimes the distribution of the beads - which is hard to manipulate for positioning/angling of the laptop - means you have to compensate in other ways, including repositioning the screen and adjusting your sitting position. The primary cause of disappointment for me is that the beads neither prevent nor reduce the distribution of heat to your legs. The heat only takes a little longer to get to you because of the padding and it is also less direct. It isn't the cotton, because prior to buying the lap desk, I used to and still use pillows. In fact, pillows work better for protecting yourself my concern was that I believe the laptop needs to be on a flat, even, hard surface so the heat isn't trapped inside it. I have had to limit its usage, which defeats the purpose of buying it. The "beads" and possibly the top padding need to be replaced with other/better material. It is also possible that I should have held out for the wooden version"with storage", which was unavailable at the time of purchase and I did not want to wait because of how much I use my laptop.

I've had this lapdesk for about a year now. I use it every day for several hours. It keeps my lap from heating up nicely. I like the padded bottom too! The only issue that I've had is that just recently some of the little beads began coming out of the slit in the plastic where the feet are to lift the laptop up. I just taped the lift thing down and solved the problem.
