    Great for Student's

Im actually a nursing student right now and I hate having to hold up my big heavy textbooks, but with this book holder, not only those it hold my novels but also my nursing textbooks! Not only is the price excellent, it's super convenient, as well, all you have to do is fold it and carry it with you!

    Not quite what I expected

I was looking for a device to hold a book, especially a paperback, open. This product holds a book UP, for instance if you want to read while keeping your hands free for other things, such as while eating. And its flexibility does make it suitable for books of any size. But unless the volume is inclined to lie more or less flat on its own, the Bookholder doesn't keep the pages OPEN. The best I can say is that it will prevent the pages from flipping when you don't want them to. What I was looking for was a spring-loaded or elastic device to clamp pages down. Many paperbacks are constructed so tightly that they won't lie open at all. My hands cramp after a while, and it's hard to eat while reading. I used to have a very simple plastic flat thing for paperbacks with flaps to tuck the covers into and a band across the middle to hold the pages down. It finally became unusable after many years. I can't find anything remotely similar to replace it. So I do use the Folding Bookholder while reading at the table -- but, with paperbacks, also using a large clip at the top to hold the book open. Not a perfect solution.

Law students - this is what you want.

Perfect. Cheap. Light construction may get crushed by heavy books in bags, but just be slightly careful. Perfectly holds a 1500 page text. Searched high and low for something like this. PERFECT.

    Book Holder

This is undoubtedly the most convenient book holder I've ever had. I love to read while I am eating, whether at home or the coffee shop, bookstore, or restaurant, so I carry this holder with me wherever I go. It folds flat, is lightweight, and most importantly, it holds up my books. The only thing it does not always do well with is holding up a mass market paperback; but hardcovers and trade paperbacks do fine. I wish I had recorded the number of comments I've got when people notice it. If I got a 10% commission for each comment that resulted in a sale, I'd be talking some serious coffee money for the year.

BTW, I hardly ever write reviews like this -- who has the time? -- but I can't be quiet about this inexpensive little helper.

BUY ONE FOR ALL YOUR BOOK-READING FAMILY AND FRIENDS

We have been using these Folding Metal Bookholders for several years and recommend them highly. We have one in the house as well as one in each of our briefcases. Over the past few years we have bought them for many family and friends who comment on their usefulness. Since books are an important part of our lives, one of these bookholders is always nearby. When we are reading in places like Barnes & Noble, passersby will comment on them and ask where we got them. They make reading a hands-free activity and keep your head in an upright position (no more visits to the chiropractor). For the serious reader one of these relatively inexpensive bookholders is an absolute "must-have" item. Buy one for everyone who loves to read!

    A Must-Have for Avid Readers!

This bookstand folds flat for easy carrying in a purse or book bag. It will hold small paperbacks and average-sized hard cover books. I carry one with me everywhere I go (because I carry a book to read everywhere I go). I eat out alone a lot and read while I eat. At least once a week someone asks me about that great bookstand. I just tell them "$5.99 at Barnes and Noble." One time an out-of-town couple then asked me directions to Barnes and Noble.

Great stocking stuffer or 'just-thinking-of-you' gift.

    LOVE this book stand

I use this book stand to read during my lunch hour every day. I'm able to eat my meal without juggling a book. It folds flat and fits inside my book. Many people have commented on the convenience of it when I'm eating. It's also great for reading "hands free" on the beach too. I've given them away to people who seemed very interested. I always keep an extra one at home.

A Very Worthwhile Book Holder at a Great Price

Since I am a student and have a disability, this compact book holder does a great job at an affordable price. With multiple texts open at once for research, the book holder helps maximize my desk space and I can easily refer to pages for my school papers as the book sits upright on my desk. Just as important, I can read the pages without straining my arms and neck. It doesn't take up a lot of space and accommodates small to very large books. I recommend this product.

I use this product every day. I love it. I've already bought 3. One is in the book that's always in the car, and another is in the book by the bed. I have a disabled sister who loves to read, but only has use of one hand. This bookstand makes a huge difference for her (stroke victim).
    Highly recommended.

As cheap and simple as this unit is, it works great. It's versatile enough to handle small books as well as my thick programming books. I can easily fold it up and put it in my bag.

Not much praise I can add to what has already been sung, except that by the looks of it I never expected it to stand up and not fall over or keep the pages duly open so that I can actually eat and read at the same time... but it does... as if by magic!

    Very useful!

This is a very simple but useful product. Now my hands are free from holding pages. This is what I've been looking for. Simple, light, and useful. Just wonder how long the two blue plastic bars that hold two arms will last.

    Both Useful and Portable

I'm a writer who purchased five of these book holders to transport to readings, so I can display copies of all my books for purchase. These book holders are light but sturdy and because they also fold, they are easy to pack.

    Fantastic

Lightweight, portable, easy to use. Small enough and flat enough to stick inside my books when not in use.

    Book Holder

I love this book holder so much that I have bought many to give to my friends and family. It allows you to eat while you read which makes it perfect to use at lunch time.

    Handy and lightweight

This book holder is great for the breakfast table or desk. I wouldn't put War and Peace on it, but it does the job for most books . The simple packaging let me see what I was getting before buying and just the cardboard to recycle.

    Great!

I purchased the metal book holder for my quilting books. When I'm following specific directions - it holds the pages in place and in clear vision. Great tool.
