wonderful journal, I'm really rough on everything and this one has held up beautifuly, it's flexible, durable, just the right size and if you have a heavy hand like i do you won't go thru the pages and permanent ink won't bleed thru, you can also glue pictures or postcards or wahtever into it and it holds up well for those things too!! I'm buying my second one, i'm SO glad it's still being sold! buy 2, i promise you;ll use them both or give one as a gift.

had this journal for 2 years, just finished writing on the last page. The pages look great and absorb ink really well, its the perfect size to carry around with me wherever I go, no lines, great cover, and never falls apart. I treat my journals roughly, and this thing is a little beaten up, but no pages fell out and the cover has stayed sturdy. I recommend it to anyone who needs a place to write down spur-of-the-moment ideas and observations.

This is a great leather journal. The paper has a handcrafted look and feel. (80 Pages). Buy two I guarantee you keep one and give one as a gift.

I just ordered this along with a few other books, but this was the main focus of my entire purchase. However, I just received a notification email stating that my order could not be fulfilled and that they were not shipping this item to me! The book is lovely and unlined (my preference because of the ability to sketch freely) but I will unfortunately not be getting my hands on it :(

I have filled many journals over my years and many of them are quite bland but this little thing is beautiful, feels wonderful in my hands, and is a pleasure to write in. the paper is soft too (high linen content), and well bound. the leather smell is wonderful too :) The embroidery is cute but not necessary, IMO. The only things I'd love to see is is the same book but in black instead of brown, and with LINED pages, but otherwise, this is my favorite journal ever.

I've had this journal since 2007 and am still writing in it(mainly due to the fact that I'm a slow writer) and has held up amazingly. I've taken it on trips, banged it around in my purse and backpack, and it's still in great condition. It's hard to erase at times due to the parchment but that's to be expected when buying. All in all, I suggest this to anyone looking for a new journal.

I purchased this journal for friends who will be traveling to Germany this summer. The wife loves to keep notes while traveling and she loved this journal. It's small enough to keep in a handbag and the rough edges of the pages gives it an inspirational touch.

Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I have the non-embroidered version of this journal (which seems to no longer be available, hence reviewing here), and there is nothing I don't love about it. The design is elegantly simple, with the pages laced in and a string tie to keep it closed, so no need to worry about faulty or aging binding glue, cracked spines, or awkward metal/magnetic/flap closing mechanisms. The leather is ridiculously soft, making this little journal an absolute pleasure to hold in your hands, as well as allowing the cover to be flexible for a variety of writing positions. The paper is a nice heavy weight, too, and very slightly textured for a classy look and feel. There are a good number of pages, and they are blank, so writing, sketching, taking notes, etc. are all fair game. All in all, it's small, lovely, well-crafted, and adorable--a great writing companion, especially if you want to stash it for on-the-go journalling.

I just received my journal today and I am already in love with it. it is small and convenient to take with me anywhere and very cute. I have never had a leather journal before so this is my first one!! One thing that I really did not expect was the paper on the inside! A lot of people were saying that it is like parchment which i dont know what that is like but to me it seems like it is homemade paper and I LOVE that soooooooooo much. I haven't written in it yet but I plan on doing so very very sooon! I think everyone needs something like this to keep them wanting to journal!!!!

I absolutely ADORE this journal.
My best friend and I were splurging at B&N after Christmas, and there was one last copy of this journal on the shelf.
We were both struck by how simply genuine it looked, a piece of artwork in and of itself. She turned to me and told me that I HAD to get it because it suited my style and personality perfectly. I couldn't be happier. The leather is absolutely wonderful, and the paper has a beautiful, soft texture. I've been using a fountain pen, and the paper is thick enough for no bleed-through.
I think that other than the whole journal itself, my favorite part is the binding and the closure. The binding reminds me of when my art teacher taught me how to bind a sketch book a few years ago, so it gives the little book that coveted hand-made, antique feel. The string closure is fun to play around with. I feel that there is a bit of personality that goes into a way someone ties their journal closed. That just made it all the more personal after I found a method that worked for me.
It's truly the little things that make this journal so utterly perfect. I've never been a fan of unlined journals, but again, I love how personality shines through in penmanship and flow. This journal feels like it is truly my own, and there is nothing like finding that one journal that feels worthy of filling with your dreams and adventures and musings. Honestly the best $17 I've ever spent.

Smells great, has a rainbow braided string enclosure (wish it was tan or a neutral color), soft to the touch, and the paper almost feels like parchment to me. This was an impulse buy -- glad I got it.

I just received mine, and it's beautiful. While it's a little smaller than I expected, it's filled with lovely, heavy ivory pages--very old-fashioned and romantic. The leather cover with its embroidery and multi-colored thread for tying looks and smells lovely. I will most likely use this light-weight journal for writing poetry; it's the perfect size to toss into my purse for when I feel like writing on the go.

This book is the perfect size for just about anything. Pictures and postcards fit into it like a gem. The pages are thick and will prevent any bleeding from caligraphy or markers, both of which have been used in mine. The book is flexable, and dourable - it's withstanded my travels and my new puppy's chewing phase. It's wonderfully bounded. The pages stay in the binding exceptionally well. I've just finished my frist diary in this book and I am ordering another one today.

Beautiful journal. I would have liked to know the size or that it didn't have any lines on the paper. I had ordered it on the B&N app. But, it made a good gift for my artistic friend.

When I first saw this at the store, I wanted it right away but I didn't have the money for it! So I was obsessing over it for the past week until I had money to buy it. And it's absolutely wonderful! I love that it has no lines because I can write as big as I want and glue pictures or anything in it. And I love how the paper feels! When I'm done with this journal, I'm definitely going to buy another one right away! :)
