Be wary of the marketing photos

I don't appreciate the marketing photos that show the light evenly illuminating the entire page. I think it's false advertising because in reality, it provides a series of uneven, light ripples across the page from the two led bulbs. This may or may not bother some, but I think they should be more honest about how it performs.

It is nice however that when you're reading, your book can shade a lot of the luminance from the light, thus shielding your sleeping neighbors. But then again, there isn't any way of turning the page without moving the light from the book. So your neighbors get flashed anyways. In fact you're always interacting with the thing as you read as oppose to other designs that just clip.

Also, the translucent case design causes a lot of scattered light into your face. The solid black models may be better if you're really interested in keeping the light on the page and not necessarily in your face or your neighbors.

Note as well that the Lightwedge Paperback is also too small for larger sized books which requires you to shift the thing as you read.

Not the answer I was looking for

The ideal booklight is lightweight, illumines the whole page, doesn't direct light where it's not wanted, is easy to use and stays put unless the reader wants it moved.

The Lightwedge is heavy, doesn't distribute the light evenly on the page, yet does distribute it out into the room, contrary to advertising. It must be moved from page to page, making bed reading difficult, unless one sits up straight with the book on one's lap (in bed? right!).

I need a good bed reader's book light to make both me and hubby happy. This is not it. Poor hubby gets blasted with it unless I make a little tent to shelter him from it and then, well it is just to difficult for me to use comfortably.

It won't save your marriage! Of course, really, a booklight won't.

    BEST book light EVER!

I love reading, as most do that are considering a LIGHTWEDGE. It seems we "bother" some using even a small reading light in hotel rooms, bedrooms, hospital rooms, etc. This has solved my problem. I have been hospitalized frequently over the past few yrs. and would have gone totally bonzo if I hadn't been able to read. Those killer over-head fluorescent in my hospital room nearly got shot out until the LIGHTWEDGE.
OK. One complaint. NO WAY TO SAFELY STORE IT. So where is that nice envelope thing B&N shows? I bought a small inexpensive laptop zip case for mine. Still, great light for hard backs. Buy different one for paperbacks.

    Perfect Light for reading!

I never leave home without Lightwedge! It's very light and easy to pack in your carry-on bag when traveling. It's great for home use as well...anywhere where you need light to read your favorite book! I would be lost with my Lightwedge! I own three of them...different sizes and one is the Harry Potter design. It also doubles as your book mark! Two tasks in one genius product. It gives off plenty of light so no worries. Try it, you won't regret it!

    I love my lightwedge.

This is a great product. I lights up the page without lighting up the room.

    great item,marriage saver!

This is a great light for those sleepless nights, or just want to read a bit before sleeping, etc.
My husband is one of those people who usually can drop off to sleep immediately, but if there is a lamp on,he can not-so.... tah dah!
Problem solved-the only thing is,I read ALOT.....for a LONG time...so I go thru batteries for it rather quickly-but I love it just the same.
