Lightwedge Paperback Reading Light

Great with nook and kindle

I've used this with both the nook and the kindle2. The "paperback" version does not fit perfectly, but it's not bad (it covers the touchscreen on the nook, and the keyboard on the kindle2), but the page-turning buttons are still exposed. In fact, I think this works better with ereaders than it does with paperback books, since you don't have to constantly reposition it every time you turn the page.

The light is not as bright as other book lights, depending on the circumstances that is a good thing. I prefer using the lightwedge in total darkness (no night-blindness when you turn it off), but I prefer more traditional book lights in poorly lit rooms. Reading through the plastic may bother some people, as will the uneven lighting. Those issues don't bother me, so I'm very happy with this light.

One important point - if you are using it with an ereader, be sure to attach the extra plastic piece. It's easily missed in the packaging, but it helps to keep the wedge from sliding off the nook or kindle.

Satisfied!

Read reviews prior to purchase; item was delivered last week. Using it, found it to have a few 'flaws', such as 'wavy-light' as reported in other reviews. But, I found if you move the 'light' in various positions, this does NOT occur ALL the time. Basically, ADJUST IT TO YOUR OWN READING COMFORT and it WILL DO JUST FINE! I have 'other' lights which attach to the 'top' of the book, but found it to be TOO CONSTRICTING/UNBALANCED. This is comfortable to use. Regarding the 'scratches', yes, it does easily, however, I put a furniture 'polish' on the 'window-glass' to HELP PROTECT IT. (IT WORKS!) I just ordered the "ORIGINAL LIGHTWEDGE" for the Hardbook (larger book) reading.

I have been thru a dozen or more book lights. This is the best I have found. Even though it scratches easily, I do not find the scratches to be a big distraction. The 4 AA batteries last a long time (months). Every other light I have used eats up batteries. I have been reading beside a sleeping baby for the past year and he nor my husband have woken up once because of light. I love it!!

Great product but ....

This works great even with my 1st Edition Nook. It's lightweight and puts just the right amount of light on the page.

The only problem is that it scratches so easily! I haven't handled this roughly at all but it has many scratches.

Not what I expected

I really wish they had shown a real picture on the package that its a dual LED lights not a glowing surface as shown. Anyhow, it is a bit wavery as have been indicated by other reviews, but I still hope that it would work ok for me.

Best book light I have ever owned.

The Lightwedge Paperback Reading Light was exactly what was I hoping for. It's large lighted area covers the entire page and allows me to read in near pitch black conditions without disturbing my girlfriend. The design of the Lightwedge allows me to read at any angle and view multiple pages with ease. It fits perfectly in a normal-size paperback. The battery life, so far, has been great. The only improvements I would add are: I wish that the standard Lightwedge came with a case for travel instead of having to purchase the deluxe version. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable, quality book light.

Lightwedge paperback reading light

I have been through many book lights. Very few are bright enough and convenient to use. These book wedges are great. Great illumination. Focuses the light on the page and not much to the rest of the dark room.

You have to move the light from one page to the next but I dont have a problem with that since I am not the fastest reader.

My highest recommendation.

Not really what I wanted!

It works ok. Hard to hold with some books, will not work with the Kindle2. Needs more light, only two lights one at the top and one at the bottom, needs one in the middle to help spread the light more evenly.

lightwedge really lights up the page

I found this really helpful to me when THe lighting is not to good. it also let's you read in good light when someone else is trying to sleep.

Perfect for regular-sized paperbacks

I love the booklight as it highlights the entire page at once... no having to re-adjust the light to focus on the top or bottom of the page. The size is perfect for regular, small-sized paperbacks. Though you might prefer the bigger version if reading a larger paperback or hardback. The smaller one will work, but its not as easy to hold in place.

Pass this one by

If you're shopping for a decent book light pass this one by. It's not worth the money. It is awkward to use and the light streaks are very annoying. I opted to replace this with the Mighty Bright XtraFlex and I am not sorry for the change.

Outstanding product!!! Perfect for regular size paperbacks!!

I will say, it does fingerprint easily, but not enough of an issue to change my rating.

Works pretty well, but scratches very easily

Overall, I like this book light. It's small and bright, but does not put out a lot of extra light. I feel a bit clumsy while laying in bed trying to turn pages and manage to move the light to the next page. I also noticed a few scratches showed up in the clear plastic. I thought I was being careful with it, but obviously not careful enough! Another issue is that it is a fixed size so you will need to purchase 2 if you read both paperback and hardback books.

Not for me...

Just seems likt too much monkeying around for me.

For Mass-Market Editions

Many people complained b/c of the size of the light. I had no problems due to me further researching about this product. The paperback edition was designed to fit properly for Mass-Market Paperback books, which are the small books known also as dime books. The only thing that was blah about it was the fact that it's not scratch resistant but other than that it was FINE.

Like the light but the batteries are a problem

I tried this book light and liked it, but in a little over a month I needed to replace the batteries and could not get them out. My husband tried and after feeling like he was going to break the light he finally removed them. I think the life of the batteries was not long enough and being so hard to remove is another problem

Get the full size instead!

I absolutely love my lightwedge original size reading light. I use it almost everynight to read in bed with. But when I tried the paperback size lightwedge I didn't like it even for paperbacks as it was too small and awkward in size. I recommend everyone to buy the original full size Lightwedge & quot a few bucks more& quot and you will love it and save yourself from wasting money on the paperback size as you won't want to use it once you have the full size.

Best book light yet

I've tried many other book lights and this light provides the most even light which focuses on the page rather than elsewhere. If it scratched less easily and came with a storage sleeve it would have gotten 5 stars. I wouldn't waste money on any other light.

Don't buy it

I'm returning it. After inserting the batteries, I was unable to close the cover without possibly breaking it. There was not enough illumination for me to read the book. The instructions were brief, and of little use.

Love it

I love the light, the best of any light I have used, however, with me being as careful as I could be with the light wedge, it scratches very easily and they are easy to see as you are reading.
